The venue was called Amnesia 20 years ago, but has since been known as the Opium Garden. Sinclar is taking it back to its original name. Not only that, but he's juggling the opening with the release of his new album, the follow-up to last year's 'Made In Jamaica', which he crafted with legendary reggae dons Sly & Robbie. (“For me to spend three weeks in Kingston with them, it was like an injection of happiness,” he says of the project).
The new album will be called 'Disco Crash', and it's taking him back to his roots, as well as coupling himself with the likes of Snoop Dogg and Sean Paul. “It's around the disco sound, but all mashed up with hip-hop,” he says. “I still want to surprise people. Always.”
